The Professional Touch
AT LONG LAST!
Last week I had the utmost privilege and honour to work with some truly talented people to photograph my work! With the ever-so-handsome Sean modeling the goods, the inventive Patrycja Grimm on makeup, and the photographic genius George Garnier snapping away, I think it's safe to say I was in good hands.

ATHENS VIDEO ART FESTIVAL 09 May, 14th - 17th

Here's the info from their site:
Athens Video Art Festival, returns with an impressive and celebrational edition. We invite you to live the experience from the 14th to the 17th of May 2009, at “Technopolis” of the Municipality of Athens.
It is the biggest festival of digital arts and new media that represents Greece internationally, aiming to the promotion of digital culture. The festival has won the support of artists, institutions and public, that attend it every year.
The festival includes art works from a broad spectrum of digital creativity, presentations of the worlds’ biggest festivals with exclusive material and representatives, academic tributes, special collaborations, and concerts. Mostly we are characterized by our imagination and our experimental attitude.
This year we inaugurate two new categories; animation and digital image, that add up to the ones already known to the public; video art, installations, web art and performance. 1.368 artists from 58 countries submitted their proposals for Athens Video Art Festival 09.
The public will enjoy a historical tribute to Nam June Paik. 31 videos of the most important representative of video art will be screened during a tribute that exceeds 7.5 hours of recorded material. John Hanhardt, Film and Media Consulting Curator of Smithsoniam Museum of American Art and curator of the last retrospective exhibition of Nam June Paik at the Guggenheim “The Worlds of Nam June Paik” will deliver a speech on the life and work of the Korean video artist.
The admirers of moving pictures will enjoy unique presentations, such as animation showcases from Milano Film Festival and Pratt Institute, video art from the latest edition of Transmediale and Goethe Institut and two films that will be screened for the first time in Greece: "Kurt Cobain: About a Son", and "Introspective" in collaboration with In - Edit Beefeater Musical Documental Festival de Barcelona.
Also, especially for Athens Video Art Festival 09, we will present the Robotic Arts Performance "Grace State Machines", a project by Bill Vorn, professor of Electronic Arts at the Concordia University.
Every day after the screenings, there will be concerts starting at 21:00, and concluded at midnight.
This year we celebrate our 5th edition, and we invite you to live the experience at Athens Video Art Festival 09, at “Technopolis” of the Municipality of Athens at Gazi, from the 14th to the 17th of May.

Luna and Curious

A veritable treasure trove of all things beautiful, bazaar, and fantastical, I think that my work compliments their aesthetic greatly. Speaking to the lovely and talented Rheanna Lingham about future possibilities, it will be interesting seeing how my pieces will be incorporated into their ever changing and creative exhibitions of work!

Bunker Gallery

We have had a bit of a late start installing my work in the Bunker Gallery's window space, but we finally got the deed done this evening. Stop by and take a look!
My work will be in the space until the 31st of March, so in the interest of not giving away the work, I will only post images after the installation has been taken down. I suggest you visit it shortly after sunset...

Solo Show
Located at 24 Caledonian Road, (Kings Cross, London) this space acts as an unexpected art venue exclusively for artists associated with The Bunker Gallery.
Spawned from my exploration of numerological theories and codes specific to the site, my rather scattered course of research brought me to the following poem by T.S.Eliot:

It is from this poem that I will base my installation. Chosen through an elaborate maze of number games and chance, this poem brings to question many things that I believe are relevant to the every day passer-by. Born and raised in the United States, T.S.Eliot was living in London when he published this poem (under Prufrock and Other Observations, 1917), a coincidence that seems all too appropriate for this work.
Stay tuned for more information (and images) on this work.
"Jumble Sale"... or is it?

The art of the Jumble Sale:
Often conjuring up images of beheaded, bedraggled barbie-dolls and chipped china/glassware, it might surprise some to hear that I will be showcasing some of my priceless works at the upcoming Bethnal Green Working Man's Club LOVE-A-FAYRE Jumble Sale on the 8th of February.
Offering it's self as a showcase for new and established artists and designers, the LOVE-A-FAYRE Jumble Sale is a different breed of beast. Working as an opportunity for creatives to present their work outside of the boundaries of "shops" "jewelers" and "galleries"; LOVE-A-FAYRE Jumble Sale aims to create a neutral viewing space, where the inhabitants of the jumble are given full creative licence over how they label/categorize (or if they label/categorize) the things they put on show.
My current works being some sort of fine art/sculpture/performance/taxidermy/jewellery/accessorie hybrid, this concept suits me very well.
Sound good? Come along for the fun.
