THE CONVENIENCE STORE: TOMORROW!

I'll be exhibiting some new items of work (!!!) at The Convenience Store tomorrow evening... for their show:
The Perverse Art of Craft: Objects of Desire

Here's what they have to say about it:

"The Perverse Art of Craft celebrates a growing trend toward the bespoke, handmade, artistic, authentic and exclusive but in this instance tainted with a daring, illicit edge. Ibi has carefully curated a store drawing on the art and design talents of his extended community. The work on show will span a multitude of disciplines"

If you're not already familiar with The Convenience Store, you should really check them out...they are one of the best high end boutiques in London.

If you're free tomorrow night, then why not RSVP (mandatory: shopkeeper at theconveniencestorefashion dot co dot uk) for tomorrow's exhibit and after party? Here are the posters for both:

For the Corpse

Big big thank you to those of you who made it over Friday and Saturday for Frostbite: For The Corpse the unconventional culinary event I put on with my mates Jack, Al and Sarah.

Both nights were extremely fun, and we are already working hard on plans for our next event.

One of our lovely guests (Jo from AfternoonTeas) posted a lovely review of her time with us on Friday, and I thought I would re-post some of her images to give you a feel for what went down...

Impossible Parcel

I was so thrilled to see that the beautiful Michelle Haswell from The Kingdom of Style blog enjoyed her festive holiday treat from RP/Encore!

I seriously love this fun video she posted of her and a work colleague trying to break into our special hard shell gift wrapping!

Big thanks to Queen Michelle and Phil Larkin for the footage!

Please note, there is free gift wrapping up until the 22nd of December, but the hard shell gift wrapping still costs £15 a pop...but this has made our little web shop set up crazy, so please just e-mail if you want the hard shell gift wrapping and we'll charge you separately for it. Happy Holidays!

PET Collection Early Release!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Two new ring styles have been added to the RP/Encore web shop! These rings mark the beginning of RP/Encore Studio, the lighter more conceptual (and affordable!) take on RP/Encore! These pieces are inspired by the animals in each collection (not cast from them), making them the perfect addition to the RP/Encore you already have, and lots of other jewellery too.

Photobucket

CANARY BONE THIN RINGS (above):

Inspired by the beautiful and delicate nature of the canary bone, these thin rings are hand made in our studio just like everything else, but they stand apart from our usual offerings in that they:

-start at only £35 each!
-come plated in BLACK GOLD and RED GOLD (£55) in addition to the usual yellow gold and silver options
-are laser engraved with their halmark on the outside of the ring, certifying that each ring is made from solid sterling silver.
-come in super tiny sizes so you can wear them on your upper fingers!

Photobucket

COLLAR RING (above):

Taking inspiration from dog & cat collars and leads, this ring is the perfect answer to all these over the knuckle rings that are everywhere right now. Also, it can be worn a couple different ways, with either sterling silver or 9ct gold chain connecting the two bands.

About:

This is my first time as a judge so for inspiration I tried to channel Cheryl Cole.
Unfortunately I failed to be cheryl-like in some areas.
Alas I don't have a semi-successful music career, so instead I have had to study advertising. I have a fondness for photography/graphics/type and helped RP/Encore with the copy, design and photography for the last collection PARK.
Cheryl didn't study art at Saint Martins with Reid and I, which was a pity.
I don't date footballers or beat up toilet attendants.

Cheryl and I both like chinese food and really apart from the above we are indistinguishable.

In the derelict underbelly of South East London, a haunted warehouse will play host to ghosts, witches, ghouls and mad scientists!

During this, the autumnal darkening of days, the line between living and DEAD is at its most fragile intersection. Hoards of the walking dead will stumble down Surrey Canal Road towards the Milwall football stadium on the night of Saturday the 29th October. Those who dare will enter a dark and bewitching world of sensorial enchantment.

Appetite: ForTheCorpse is the first event in a series of experimental dining experiences.

The menu will include:

CENTIPEDE'S SONG JELLY
BRAISED BABY HEADS (toffee apples)
WITCHES' HAIR (pistachio candy floss)

1970s Japanese horror film, 'HAUSU' (House) will be projected during the meal, interspersed with a smorgasboard of ghoulish and ghastly entertainment!!!!!

Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion and come prepared with a frightening tale, should they wish to share it.

Tickets: £28.00 (BYOB)
Dates: Saturday 29th October
20 participants per night
Time: 7.30pm-11pm

Please email forthecorpse@gmail.com to reserve your place.

Single Crow Tongue Bracelet : Loss

This year I lost two people to cancer. First, my godmother Jamie Roach and then my Uncle John shortly thereafter.

Cancer is a bitch.

I made this single crow tongue bracelet for Jamie before she died, and she wore it up until her death.

I'll be selling these single crow tongue bracelets to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in honour of her death/life. Get in touch if you're interested in buying one, and supporting a damn good cause for £250 not including postage.

Unusual Gifts

One of the perks of doing what I do is people tend to remember and get in touch when they see/find something they think I might like. Pretty cool right?

Being a bit of a packaging junkie myself, something that I always find interesting is how people wrap up, preserve and pack the items they save for me. I get frozen squirrels wrapped in ten corner shop bags, brown and white pigeons in hat boxes and a little dried up black widow spider sent over in Tiffany's box!

Here are two photos of some recent gifts...
